Anne Glee (nee Mawson) is a former Senior Ballroom Champion reaching a ranking of 7th in the UK with her previous partner, Ian Pickles. Together, Ian and Anne represented the UK in international competitions and appeared as dancers on “A Touch of Frost” before retiring from competition in 2003.
Anne is qualified as a ballroom dance teacher with the UKA and the IDTA.
Anne started her ballroom dance school in Huddersfield in 2009 and has taught hundreds of local people to get their feet travelling in a ballroom related direction.
Her hallmark qualities as a teacher are kindness, enthusiasm and endless patience.
Attention to technique is an ongoing characteristic of her teaching approach. Poise, posture, hold and footwork are very much included, as well as foot patterns. As Anne herself says: “I’m teaching you to dance, not to shuffle!”
The informal and friendly atmosphere and patient and expert tuition that has been the Glee’s hallmark style since 2009 continues. Anne is very much looking forward to welcoming new and old clients onto the dance floor!
